What a crazy weekend! Saturday morning Danny and I arrived to City Park in Reading, PA for the Duryea Downhill. A course that would criss cross Mt Penn in just a matter of 3 and a half minutes. Saturday’s practice runs were a blast as we all warmed up to the course. A few new lines were discovered and Danny committed and went big on the road gap. After a strange night out to dinner in what Danny and I liked to call the “twilight zone” that is Reading, PA we hit the hay. Sunday morning brought more beautiful weather and more fast practice runs down the steep high speed course. Unfortunately during practice Danny wiped out after a huge air on the road gap and managed to get a boxer’s fracture in his left paw. Anne and I managed to put down solid race runs. Anne snagged 1st in pro women, and I got 2nd in Cat2. A great weekend overall. Healing vibes to Danny!

Such a beautiful weekend racing bikes up in Massanutten, VA! It was my first race in Cat 1, and after having strep throat for 4 days prior to the weekend, I was still feeling pretty rough. I managed to place 8th of about 30 riders, I can’t complain about snagging a top ten finish when I was still coughing up a lung! And Anne crushed it in Pro Women, taking first place!
After all the rain we got late Saturday afternoon and evening, things were a little slick through the rocks up top, but things dried up by race time, and conditions were nice and tacky all around. The course was fast, and super fun as always. Definitely had a phenomenal time getting together with the Race Pace DH crew, its gonna be a killer season for east coast racing!

I grew up on this movie. Ptex Lies and Duct Tape is a ski movie I have watched every winter since 94’ when my Dad showed it to us. Some of the quotes from this movie will stick with me till the day I die. The music, the people, and the stories told, I love this movie. It is so much more then just a ski movie to me. Watch this clip. Troy kills it, and then head to chamonix or the once known “valley x”. Any of my friends will tell you I’ve probably tried to sit them down and have them watch it with me. It takes me back to childhood, snowboarding, traveling, and learning to love and respect the mountains. P-Tex, Lies & Duct Tape forever.
